Art and About in Sydney

It’s that time of year again —  Art and About was launched yesterday. There’s the big photos in Hyde Park, artist talks, laneways art, film screenings, a giant penny farthing bike made out of bikes in Martin Place, some statues what have been given some glad rags (see picture), and many other works including Camp Stonewall:

‘Working with leading gay & lesbian activists and the local community, artist Annie Kennedy has created a resonant and powerful installation exploring the broader struggle for gay rights mixed with personal ‘coming out’ stories. Annie was previously associated with Art & About 2008, working with the Erskineville community on The Stables Project. CAMP Stonewall is the third artwork in the Taylor Square Plinth Project, established by City of Sydney to support the Oxford Street Cultural Quarter and the Sustainable Sydney 2030 delivery of a cultural and creative city.’
