National Centre of Indigenous Excellence

Got the chance to pay a quick visit to NCIE with work yesterday, and was completely blown away by what they do down there at the centre.  Anyone can join it, and they have great gym facilities and classes, a heated lap pool, dormitory accommodation for camp groups etc. They also work with all sorts of other community organisations and initiatives, such as the Aurora Project, ‘a not-for-profit organisation which runs an internship program – placing students and professionals as interns with organisations involved in Indigenous Affairs.’  So much good being done in the world!!!

Almost forgot — there are volunteering opportunities available too, such as reading to kids after school. Get in touch with them if you want to know more.
