Sharing our Stories: A Forum Celebrating Sexuality, Sex and Gender Diversity in Multicultural Communities

What are the unique experiences of living with multiple identities and between two diverse communities? What does ‘coming out’ as gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, intersex or queer mean within multicultural families and communities? In partnership with a range of community organisations, the City of Sydney is hosting a community forum to explore sexual and gender diversity in multicultural communities and to celebrate their journeys and strengths.

Join us for film screening of Tony Ayres’ China Dolls* and hear personal stories and experiences in the field from a panel of speakers, including youth, family, artists, practitioners and service providers. There will be a facilitated discussion, workshops and an exhibition featuring artworks from local artists who work in this area. There will also be a chance to find out about available services and to network with service providers, community leaders and organisations. Drinks and refreshments will be provided.

When: Tuesday 14th December.
Time: 5:30pm drinks for 6pm start, concludes 9:30pm.
Where: NSW Teachers Federation, 37 Reservoir St, Surry Hills. Cost: Free

RSVP encouraged: Contact Maria Chan on 02 9246 7312 or mchan@cityofsydney.nsw.gov.au . For more information please visit http://whatson.cityofsydney.nsw.gov.au/
