Portrait Playground

09 January at 14:00 – 10 January at 18:00
Plump Gallery

240 Enmore Rd, Enmore

This looks truly ridiculous…

‘PORTRAIT PLAYGROUND, where you have no control over how you are portrayed and no one is picture perfect.

It is a simply idea.
We all sit in two circles, one inside the other, the inner circle facing the outer. The inner circle will keep taking the chair to the left of them when the music stops (good music I promise but nothing distracting)
Portrait Playground is like speed dating only it is a hundred thousand times cooler.

❋ Instead of participants talking and flirting you do a portrait of each other

❋ It is not speedy as such, you get 10-20 minutes each portrait or person, until the music stops and it is time to capture the next person.

❋ Bring your choice of weapon be it Paint, Charcoal, Pastel, Pen or just a good old fashioned lead pencil.

❋ Come dressed up or dressed down but please don’t come wearing a mask that covers most your face.

❋ Portrait Playground is for people of all levels of artistic skill and experience. In fact the session will greatly benefit from this making every portrait of one person different and interesting. It will make it more fun and more revealing for everyone.

❋ Limited baked goods will be available as well as some classy goon.

❋ Invite as many people as you like as long as they are not idiots . The more the merrier (like seriously tho the more people involved the better it will work)

My hope is that at the end we will all go home with an eclectic bunch of portraits of ourselves and massive smiles from ear to ear. And lets face it everyone loves a picture of them selves.’
