Women Say Something (Forum)

Women Say Something are delighted to announce that our third panelist for the Women Say Something event on Wednesday March 2nd is a gender-irreverent performance artist, academic, writer, activist, occasional journalist, full-time monster, agony aunt, volunteer dogsbody, and devotee of the dress-up box with 9 years experience in the Sydney queer and fetish communities.

She is Zoo.  Zoo’s CV includes dozens of provocative, perverse and playful performance works, including regular gigs at Hellfire, The Pussycat Club and Queer Central, Zoo Club (Perth), the odd show overseas, many a photo shoot and short film, and several installation pieces.

Currently completing a PhD in Media and Communications, Zoo intends to continue following gut instinct and pure whimsy wherever they lead, most probably to further creative ventures, extended travels, and constant delighting in the glorious array of people who are out there to love and be loved by.

And now, for the actual event:

WOMEN SAY SOMETHING

Women speak about what really matters.  Members of our female community will have the opportunity hear from and ask questions from a panel of women, featuring some of our communities most infamous personalities, at a Mardi Gras event on Wednesday March 2nd, 6.30pm for a 7pm start, upstairs at the Columbian Hotel.

This exceptional panel of women will meet in the style of “THE VIEW” to talk, debate and ponder what really matters today in our many diverse communities and the challenges that women still face in overcoming adversity.

Featuring three generations of Lesbian and Queer Women, there isn’t a lot this group hasn’t seen or has an opinion on. Two sessions of 4 topics each followed by a DJ from 10 to mingle and discuss further.

Hosted by DJ Kate Monroe this is a night not to be missed. Panelists are being announced over the coming weeks and the names will not disappoint.

Our first panelist Sydney Femme burlesque performer: LILLIAN STARR.
And our second panelist DJ and inspirational conscious life observer: KELLY LYNCH.
And our third panelist is the gender-irreverent performance artist & activist: ZOO

Join our fan page and “like” to keep up to date and join the discussion enabling you have the opportunity to suggest themes for discussion on the night.
