Elle Knox — Fleshed Out. An exhibition of video poetry

Knox’s videos hover between the cinematic and the poetic, using the performing body to show rather than tell the poetry with which her body of work is concerned. An internationally published poet with extensive performance art and musical expertise, Knox draws surprising collaborators from Sydney’s underground and queer art scenes. In Fleshed Out, each of the eleven video artworks fleshes out a particular poem in an innovative way, be this dialogue, dance, design, tattoo, translation, newsfeed or hypnotic original soundscape.

These colourful and playful videos have screened at Athens Video Art Festival, Akademie der Künste Berlin, Sydney Underground Film Festival, Melbourne Writers Festival, St Kilda Film Festival, Zebra Poetry Film Festival Berlin, ACMI Red Hot Shorts, Queer Pixels, Australian Poetry Festival and more.

This is the first time that Ariel Paddington has hosted an art exhibition per se. Please join us for a drink on the last day of winter, to celebrate the first day of this unique show. The exhibition will be opened by Robert McFarlane.
